Either the support person has only a tiny understanding of the english language or the company employs parrots eidmax answer the support queries. You must run the background MFP every time you need to scan, fax, etc. If you use the older driver on the supplied CD, those users will not be able to run the print server software. As also reported here, scanning is slow, but Edomax can live with that. The only minor problem I encountered was a conflict with my firewall, Zone Alarm, which was easily solved by uninstalling and reinstalling Zone Alarm.
